Basically, Sound on Display (SoD) is also a mechanism mainstream OEMs are working towards perfecting so as to completely eliminate smartphone bezels.

As revealed in the title of this piece, SoD technology will bring sound-emitting screens to the next generation of smartphones.

The technology isn’t exactly a new tech as it has been experimented by Xiaomi about 3 years ago on the Mi MIX smartphone. Xiaomi substituted the front-facing earpiece speaker with a piezoelectric **bleep** (a vibrating panel) which produces sounds by vibrating.
