We are happy to introduce you to Galaxy Enhance-X, which provides a host of cool AI features to optimize the image quality of photos automatically.

The previous photo remaster feature used AI to detect the remaster engines required to create optimal photos. However, Galaxy Enhance-X has gone a step further, where users can choose the AI engines such as HDR, Upscale and Fix Blur by themselves to remaster photos.

So, why do you need a ‘Remaster picture’ feature?

Sometimes it's difficult to take the desired photo you have in mind. This can be attributed to factors such as poor lighting, unplanned shake and other environmental factors. In addition, when images are shared over social media, there is a decline in quality as the image is automatically compressed.

To overcome this, the powerful AI engines of Galaxy Enhance-X offer you a variety of experiences by providing features that were previously unavailable to users. We will actively take feedback from Samsung members and deploy the popular features to Camera, Gallery, and Editor to greatly enhance the consumer experience.

The Enhance-X app can be accessed by simply launching the Galaxy Store app on your phone, searching for the Enhance-X app, and installing it.

The Galaxy Enhance-X app not only provides a Magic option to automatically enhance your photos but also offers advanced features that allow you to customize and do your image enhancements.

Magic

Galaxy Enhance-X utilizes deep learning and AI algorithms to improve photo quality with a single touch. It automatically detects errors present in your photos such as noise, blur, loss of detail, etc. and applies the appropriate AI image enhancement algorithms to significantly improve the quality of your photos. Powered by AI, Magic Enhancer can be a great personal photo assistant for improving photo quality automatically with the least hassle.

HDR

In one click, High Dynamic Range enhances the image by intelligently defining and refining the highlights, shadows, overall brightness, and contrast of your image, without losing quality.

Use the Galaxy Enhance-X HDR option to expand the dynamic range in your photos.

Upscale

Images shared on social media apps by friends are usually compressed. Enhance-X increases the resolution by up to 4x for photos that are 1MP or smaller, by removing compression noise to give you a sharper image.

Moiré Removal

When you take a picture of your laptop, TV, or monitor screen with your camera, you experience a wavy, high-frequency repetitive pattern called "Moiré". Enhance-X detects and removes moiré patterns in your photos to give you clean and sharp photos.

Shadow Removal

Shadows are sometimes unavoidable. They darken the image, making the whole picture unrecognizable. For example, when capturing food indoors in bright light, shadows are cast on the plate, making the photo disappointing. Enhance-X uses an AI engine to identify shadows in your photos and then removes them, to increase the satisfaction of your photo.

In addition, for those who have difficulty using the new features, we would like to provide additional simple instructions on how to use the five main features of Enhance-X, including the feature that removes shadows from food photos.

Launch Enhance-X app → Click "Select a picture to edit" button → Select picture → Click More (≡) → Click "Remove shadow" → Shadows removed (Select√, CancelX) → Save button at top of the screen (↓)

※ If the photo is 1MP or smaller, you will be given an additional option to save it at 4x upscaled quality.

Image processing with AI requires complex computational processing and high hardware performance, so the newly launched Galaxy Enhance-X app is only available for the Galaxy S23 series for now.

However, Galaxy Enhance-X takes full advantage of the downloadable nature of the app and it will soon be available in Galaxy S22 and A-Series models to provide a unique experience for Galaxy users.
