OneUI Suggestion #5: Device Care

By mistake, I clicked on the 'Optimise' button and the app started doing its things that I don't want:

There should be a CONFIRMATION pop-up before proceeding.

For a moment I literally got scared it would delete some of my files that such cleaning programs tend to delete.

What you are saying is something that should be made a separate thing - a cleaner app, which is already there - Storage Booster. This is the one which delete files and unnecessary data (could be necessary sometimes)... 😬

I don't think that's a good design to ask for confirmation which will increase the no. of taps. A good UI must keep no. of taps or clicks close to a minimum.

They can provide a setting that asks for confirmation then. People can tap on it by mistake, like i did.

Agree with your last sentence 100%.

So a setting to that effect would be nice, to prevent accidental clicks.

I don't like apps to blindly delete cache or close apps, which is commonly done by such optimisation apps.

I don't remember what it did, but so far as I haven't seen any files lost.

As with LP, I don't know what you use it for. But it can do a lot of things that one mustn't do.

From my observations, that Optimise Now only clears background apps (it's not as agressive as Memory Guardian) and does not clear Cache (i m searching for some simple light weight app for cleaning all apps' Cache ONLY)...

For cleaning Cache, ig Storage Booster does it ... But it also "cleans"/deletes Files (which i don't want)

Yeap LP can do a lot ... Use it sometime 😅 ... It is kept mostly on Deep Sleep with Permissions removed...

don't worry about confirmation UI ask for confirmation before deleting any kind of data stored in the storage

Okay. There is only one good and reliable cleaner app for Android: SD Maid.

Fortunately, i don't have these Guardians or Boosters on my phone. 🤩🤩
