Files can be downloaded without Storage permissions....

On Android 12, i see that apps (like browsers) without access to Storage (Files & Media, All Files Access) are able to download files to the Downloads folder. They CAN upload files too!

But I notice that they are using the Documents UI for this purpose. So it should be okay from a privacy and security perspective.

Has anyone noticed this? Can you explain why?

Is this a bug or is it by design?

Aur gallery me show bhi kiya .

This looks more like a design than a bug. If that is the case, they won't be able to read files from storage. In which case, there is no risk to privacy/ security.

and in my..m30s android 11.
chrome repeatedly automatically becoming default browser.

Try resetting app preferences (or reset all settings).

recently i did reset ..bcz of charging issue.
but this problem is not going. browser is automatically making itself default. 😔

Quite strange. Definitely something you use (e.g. Google Assistant) requires Chrome to be the default browser.

Try uninstalling Chrome for a day or two. See if everything works as you want. Then reinstall Chrome and see if the same behaviour returns.
