We hear samsung say, we promise 4 years of Android updates on various phones. This 4 year period starts from date of purchase of phone or from date of launch of phone ?

Iphones get updates for longer period of time compared to androids..... iphone 6s/6s plus launched in 2015 still running on latest ios 15 which means that it has got 6 IOS updates till now....

Iphones are completely different from androids...

You r right. I'm saying that updates on iPhone are also counted from the date of launch not from date of purchase. And you cannot blame android brands for their poor software updates as unlike Apple they don't own their software . Only the brands collaborated with Google in exchange of huge amount of money can provide few updates.

It's only beneficial for those purchasing immediately after the launch. All this strategies are to sale products and make Samsung's phones more promising option than others.
