I copy notes into Samsung notes in two ways.
Long press on note to be copied till word, phrase highlighted , with two 'handles' one at each end of the highlighted area. I move the handles till what I want copied is highlighted. Menu opens with ' copy, select all share...'. Now I have done it two ways. 1. Tap copy, minimise window/app. I open Samsung Notes, click on name of note I want to paste in, or make new note, long press, paste menu is seen, tap. material is copied. If you are coping into a note which already has material, scroll down till end of old material and then long press till blinking cursor and paste/select all menu opens. Tap paste, if extra has come delete with cursor, and tap Save at top of page.

2. After choosing what has to be copied, tap share in menu that opens. New share menu opens at bottom half of screen. I tap Samsung Notes, the note I want to paste material in, and material is pasted sgain if extra material is pasted delete using cursor and back. Tap save.
From whatsapp long press the whole conversation is highlighted. Menu opens at top of window, tap copy (two window emblem), minimise whatsapp open Samsung Note, go to note you want to paste in, long press paste. Here the whole conversation is pasted, so using cursor and back button delete what is not wanted then tap save.
