Huh, what a shame. It's a reaally nice shortcut that I use a lot. Would be excellent if it could be configurable. Actually I take it more as a bug because it's just so... basic. Thanks anyway!

Hi. Is there a way to adjust the brightness for the shortcut torch version? Adjusting it by long pressing the torch icon in the notification panel doesn't seem to work, as it doesn't save the brightness setting. It just turns it on on medium brightness (which isn't really convenient because it's not bright enough).

AFAIK, it doesn't save the set brightness. You can change the brightness from the edge panel if your device supports it

There is another handy way you can use.
Open Settings.
Go to Lock Screen.
Tap Shortcuts.
Tap Left/Right Shortcut.
Choose Torch.
That's it! Now whenever you want to use torch, just swipe on the lock screen and it'll turn on.
Hope it helps.
