My train of thought when it comes to software improvements like you've suggested comes down to Samsung finally getting Exynos optimization right. They wouldn't want to market such big improvements while they still heavily rely on SD chipsets to keep the peace.

Another problem is the focus on AI, as it financially takes away from other areas that need serious R&D improvements, like moving to silicone batteries so that we have higher capacity batteries while they enjoy continue making devices thinner.

In case you didn't know, Samsung removed 'clear system cache'(amongst other things) in the recovery menu since the February update. There's only factory resetting and restarting the device now.

Personally, I'm annoyed by it as that option helped a lot after software updates to clear any potential side effects post update but some say due to the changes in which software updates are handled in newer devices, Samsung has no need to keep the option as the system cache will be cleared dynamically so manually becomes redundant.

With the bootloader(place where to install custom operating system) disabled and download mode also about to be restricted/disabled in 8.5, an era of Android customization in the Samsung ecosystem is slowly meeting it's end.

I have never clear cache in recovery menu after installing major and lots of minor updates. Never had a problem with software updates. So, it doesn't matter to me...

But I am not liking this new bootloader restriction..

I think you need to enable Maintenance mode first and then you can enter download mode. It's useless anyway since we can no longer unlock the bootloader to install custom software...I say they should remove that too (download mode)....stupid decision makers...

Next story: Installing apps on Android...This one makes me angry...

You have to go through pop-ups before you finally get to enjoy your new app...

When it comes to features, optimization, performance, battery, since they prevent bootloader unlocking and install custom software, they should work very hard to provide users with more features like those freedoms you get with custom software, better performance, more battery life, better optimisation, quick software updates with heavy testing for quick launch, More Good Lock features, access to Good Guardians, better security features, better privacy features, more powerful Samsung apps packed with even more features, better UI customization, better UI consistency across stock apps, better assistant integration, more powerful Modes & Routines, more detailed battery information like temperature, cycle count, current voltage, etc.., a system monitor app - similar to task manager on Windows or System monitor on Linux, better performance and optimisation and stop giving out features drop by drop, instead make your new software update along with your apps looks like there is a big difference than previous updates and finally extend the features to older devices....

And then you can make your S series more powerful to compensate for the loss that happened...

Hope that wasn't too much to ask for..because there is more..
