Hi, I'm Keel Naidoo, a Samsung enthusiast who wants to become a Samsung Star.

So, basically, your ribbon cable on your Z Flip 4 is actually damaged, maybe by sand or debris going into the phone. What happens is that your phone's ribbon cable shorts itself, and that's why it's black.

The best solution is to keep it open or go to your nearest Samsung repair store and replace the screen.

Samsung replaces the whole unit and not just the ribbon cable.

I hope this helps,
from the Samsung enthusiast Keel
