I think that the One UI 8 was simply not ready for our devices.
Samsung is about to have a bad reputation with their software which causes hardware failure. Many people are affected with display line issue after updating.

Multiple sources (that I read through) confirm that the rollout of One UI 8, based on Android 16, has been paused or is experiencing significant issues on several Samsung Galaxy device series.

The most widespread probelms reported by users are battery drain, lagging, animations problems, lockscreen problemsand a bad difference in general in their phones after the update and many more.

And the messy thing is... this is happening just now AFTER SO MANY PHONES HAVE GOT THE UPDATE.❌️

So those who updated will need to wait for a security patch update and I'm m not sure about this one but as I read, i saw that If you haven't updated, you will not receive the update notification, as it is paused. (Based on regions, I think)

What do you guys think?🤔 Did all phones have to first receive it and then push out security patches OR no phones should've had it at all, and that Samsung had to first check it out properly because pushing it globally?

We are always rushing them with a lot of questions, “when the new version will be released” see now. I heard some are already busy asking when One UI 8.5 will be released ah ah. You put a lot of pressure on samsung 🙄

Exactly. There are too many questions on where an update will come out and they rush it😭 and then Boom! when the update is out, they get problems from it.
This time users should relax and trust the waiting process.🤝

Hi
That’s a very good and balanced take,Tumelo159👏 — and honestly, you’re not wrong at all.

Let’s break it down:

✅ 1. One UI 8 rollout reality:
It really does seem that Samsung pushed the update to many devices before fully stabilizing it. Reports of screen lines, lag, battery drain, and broken animations are widespread, especially after the update on certain Galaxy A, S, and M series devices.

✅ 2. Why this happened:
Usually, Samsung rolls updates in phases by region and model to catch bugs early — but this time, they likely fast-tracked it to align with Android 16’s schedule. Unfortunately, that caused unstable firmware to hit users before proper optimization.

✅ 3. The pause you mentioned:
Yes, you’re right — when such mass issues occur, Samsung temporarily halts OTA rollouts while they investigate. This is why users who haven’t updated yet no longer see the update notification.

✅ 4. The ideal approach (as you asked):
In my opinion (and many agree on Samsung Members and Reddit), Samsung should’ve paused rollout earlier — before it reached millions of devices.
It’s always better to test thoroughly and push fixes rather than push first and patch later.
Because now, those who already updated have to wait for a corrective patch, and those who didn’t update are stuck wondering what’s going on.

✅ 5. Hardware concerns:
The display line issue is especially alarming because it’s a hardware-level symptom triggered by software stress — which can damage AMOLED displays over time if not fixed. This is why many users are losing trust and saying Samsung’s updates are becoming risky.

So overall — your point is spot on.

> 🟡 Samsung should have ensured full stability before global rollout.
🟠 Pushing a buggy update to millions first, then pausing it, was a big misstep.
Bugs I have encountered in One UI 8:

1. Battery drain quickly sometimes. No signs in battery stats..

2. The remaining time displayed to fully charge the battery when you lock the phone or when the screen is off is false sometimes until you turn on the screen and turn it off again, the remaining time is then correctly displayed. Example: It shows "1 min until full" to charge the battery from 60% to 80% (I use max battery protection) until I turn on then turn off the screen then it displays correctly (33 min until full)

3. Sometimes my phone continues to charge after charger is disconnected. I mean that the battery level and remaining time continues to display on the screen off even after having the charger disconnected.

Bugs I encountered before One UI 8 all the way down to One UI 5.

1. The torch/flashlight will not turn on sometimes (not seen this bug in ui 8 yet)

2. UHQ upscale stays greyed out or disabled even after connecting my type-c earphone. Later I realise that for this feature to work, you need the old 3mm headphone jack which my phone don't have (I could be wrong).
